Schools across Harrogate and the surrounding areas are looking for skilled and dependable primary teachers who can step into the classroom with confidence and make an immediate impact.
At Academic Appointments, we work in partnership with a wide range of primary schools throughout Harrogate and the surrounding areas, providing experienced teachers for daily supply, short-term cover and longer-term assignments. We are looking for teachers who enjoy the variety that supply work offers and are happy to travel between schools across the local area.

About the role
No two days in supply teaching are the same. You may be providing planned cover for a class teacher, delivering lessons across different year groups or supporting a school during a busy period. Whatever the placement, you'll play an important role in ensuring pupils continue to receive high-quality teaching in a positive and productive learning environment.
Assignments are available across the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
Your responsibilities will include
* Delivering engaging lessons that promote learning and pupil progress.
* Following lesson plans or preparing lessons where appropriate.
* Establishing high expectations for behaviour and learning.
* Creating a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment.
* Supporting pupils with a range of learning needs.
* Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and school staff.
* Providing feedback on pupils' progress when required.
* Adhering to safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies.
We are looking for teachers who have
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
* Recent experience teaching in UK primary schools.
* Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum.
* Excellent classroom management skills.
* Confidence teaching across different primary year groups.
* A flexible approach and the ability to adapt to different schools.
* A willingness to travel to schools throughout Harrogate and surrounding areas
* Recent professional references.
* An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or a willingness to obtain one.
* A thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
