Primary Behavioural Teaching Assistant

If the answer is YES, then we may just have the perfect role for you as a Teaching Assistant within the Johnstown area.

What will the role involve?

Provide one-on-one support to pupils with behavioural challenges (Primary Age) 
Going into the community with pupils to promote independent living and life skills.
Getting involved in physical and practical activities.
Assist in the development and implementation of individualised behaviour plans.
Encourage and motivate students to reach their academic and behavioural goals.
The ideal candidate will:

Hold a valid driving licence with access to own vehicle.
Not be phased by high tariff behavioural difficulties.
Have a keen interest in physical activities and will be confident in taking pupils outside to engage them in physical activities.
Experience of supporting children or young adults with challenging behaviour.
Excellent knowledge of Autism.
Be able to provide a safe and positive learning environment and de-escalate any threatening or aggressive behaviour.
Be registered (or willing to register) with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
Be registered (or willing to register) with the DBS and DBS Update Service.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
