Working Hours: Split shift - Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM, and 15:00 PM to 18:30 PM (37.5 hours per week)

Job Description:
Equitas are seeking a dedicated and reliable Caretaker/Premises Officer to join their clients Primary School in Bethnell Green. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining the school premises to ensure a safe and clean environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Opening and Closing Duties: Responsible for opening the school in the morning and ensuring it is securely closed at the end of the day.
2. Building Maintenance: Conduct routine checks and minor repairs to the school building, including plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance tasks.
3. Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations by identifying and addressing hazards promptly. Conduct regular inspections to maintain a safe environment.
4. Security: Monitor security systems and respond to any security concerns or emergencies outside of regular school hours.
5. Grounds Maintenance: Maintain outdoor areas, including playgrounds and gardens, by performing tasks such as litter picking, grass cutting, and gardening duties.
6. Assistance with Events: Support the school community by assisting with the setup and cleanup of events and activities held on the premises.
7. Communication: Collaborate with school staff and administration to address maintenance issues and coordinate tasks effectively.
Requirements:
1. Previous experience in a caretaking or facilities management role is preferred.
2. Must hold an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively.
5. Flexible approach to working hours, including split shifts and occasional overtime.
6. A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
