Description:

We are working with our global manufacturing client who have a vacancy for a pre-press operative working on days with a valid forklift license 
 
The main areas of experience/knowledge for this role are as follows:
 
• Required skills
 Self-motivated and quality focused
 Able to mount/demount plates
 Plate filing system
 DSI scanning – Label artwork and Label picking
 Label picking and packing process
 Forklift work as required

• Performance
 Plate mounting accuracy
 On time delivery of tooling to press
 Plate filing accuracy
 On time label pick for despatch
 Label pick accuracy

• Quality
 CAPA’s
 Continuous improvement engagement
 BRC adherence
 ISO adherence

Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Being adaptable and flexible in approach to work.
• The ability to safely operate machinery and equipment.
• Effective communication skills.
• Organise working day so that the presses are kept supplied with tooling to match schedule, and to ensure label orders are picked on time for despatch.
• Mix ink to match Pantone requirements.
• Managing ink stock, booking ink in and out of stock.
• Print out carton labels and core labels for works orders.
• Operate ERP system (Oracle E1) to provide work-to lists for picking, packing and stocking.
• Ensure labels and located correctly and safely in storage locations.
• Ensure FIFO (first in first out) principles are adopted when picking stock, using DSI barcoding
to ensure this practise.
• Accurately follow information on pick slips using DSI barcoding to ensure customers receive
correct labels.
• Supply high level consumables to label department as and when required.
• Maintain a clean and tidy working environment.
• To abide by all statutory requirements including those relating to health and safety.
• To ensure you read, understand and fulfil your responsibilities under the Company’s equal opportunities policy in place from time to time.
• To adhere to and promote all company policies and procedures in place from time to time including those relating to HR and health and safety
• To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Line Manager.
 
Qualifications
• Health & Safety awareness.
• FLT license in date
• Powered pallet truck trained.

Experience
• Manual Handling.
• Identifying objects.
• Processing information.
• Knowledge of completing paperwork and maintaining a clean and neat work environment.
• General warehouse and packing experience.
• Picking and packing products.
• Moving and organising stock.
 
Skills 
• Time management.
• Communication.
• General IT.
• Able to read and interpret instructions on pick lists and shipments with a view to pull and ship orders accurately.
• Ability to multitask
