Description:

Veterinary Practice Manager From £32k DOE. Penrith, Cumbria.

You are a well-organised, resourceful individual with a passion for animals.

Something is not ticking all your career boxes currently and you are seeking a new professional home.

You love being a Practice Manager, you are great at your job and at your happiest when leading a practice that cares for animals and their owners.

You are looking to channel your experience and find a place where you will feel valued and supported, whilst being surrounded by passionate people, dedicated to their vocation.

An independent mixed animal practice is recruiting for a new Practice Manager. Is this you?

Owned by a vet and run like an independent, not a chain where a kind, emphatic person is just as important to them as previous experience.

This practice has a real ‘laid back family feel,’ where everyone pulls together when there’s work, and relaxes when it’s time. A strong team that wants the best for patients and practice.

Without the shackles of a large vet group and the owner on-site, decisions can be made quickly and ideas are encouraged. They pride themselves on the highest level of care to local pets at affordable prices.

You will need people management skills and be resourceful. Coming from a veterinary background is always a benefit but not essential, the important thing here, is you.

Proficiency in IT and accounting systems is required. An understanding of the financial day-to-day running of the practice, specifically payroll, budgeting, purchasing, and client accounts would be beneficial.

You will have had some experience supervising teams. Being jointly responsible for staffing, scheduling, and performance management also comes within the role.

It goes without saying communication skills are key here, liaising with not only animals and their owners but also external professional resources.

This role is 32 hours per week. Some flexibility with hours can be considered, as work-life balance is important.

So, what’s in it for you? £30-35k PA DOE. Company pension, employee discounts, on-site parking, 27 days annual leave plus bank holiday entitlement.

Based in Penrith on the edge of the beautiful Lake District, you have Ullswater 10 mins from the practice, with all the outdoor activities you can think of. There are lots of good pubs, restaurants, and leisure facilities nearby with an M&S and Sainsburys a stone's throw away, in case you need to grab some lunch. What’s not to like?

Choosing a new role is a big decision. You care about what you do. Most importantly, you want somewhere you can stick around. A place to help, learn, and call home.

So, what’s next?

Send your CV (don’t worry if it’s not up to date). We can’t get the whole story in a job ad so ask any questions. I’ll answer honestly, no hard sell.

Be a happier more fulfilled Practice Manager
