Description:
This is a newly created senior position offering responsibility for the performance and development of an established office. It provides a good route for an experienced Practice Manager or Senior Manager looking for greater leadership responsibility within a growing accountancy group.
Continued investment and expansion has created an opportunity for an experienced accountant to take responsibility for an established Sheffield office.
Reporting to regional leadership, this is a broad role combining team management, client portfolio responsibility, technical oversight and the day-to-day running of the practice.
Responsibilities
Lead and develop a small team of qualified and part-qualified accountants.
Manage a portfolio of clients and maintain strong senior relationships.
Oversee and review statutory accounts and management accounts.
Maintain oversight of bookkeeping, VAT and payroll delivery.
Ensure compliance with UK GAAP, Companies Act and HMRC requirements.
Manage client meetings, technical queries and service issues.
Improve workflows, controls and quality standards across the office.
Support recruitment and development of the team as the practice grows.Candidate profile
Strong experience within a UK accountancy practice.
Previous team leadership or management experience.
Sound technical knowledge of accounts preparation and compliance.
Confident managing client relationships and providing practical advice.
Experience with Xero, QuickBooks, Sage or similar software.
Well organised with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.Package and working pattern
£60,000 – £65,000, annual performance-related bonus and access to a company share scheme. 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays.
