Practice Accountant

Description:

A well-established and growing accountancy practice near Crawley is looking to appoint an experienced Accountant to join their friendly team. The position can be considered on either a full-time or part-time basis and offers the opportunity to work closely with a varied portfolio of SME clients.

Working within a supportive practice environment, you'll be responsible for preparing statutory accounts, management accounts and tax returns, while building strong client relationships and providing day-to-day financial advice.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
Preparing and reviewing management accounts
Preparing corporation tax returns and computations
Preparing self-assessment tax returns
Reviewing bookkeeping and VAT returns
Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients
Providing financial advice and business insights
Supporting clients with accounting software and best practice
Building and maintaining strong client relationships

Requirements:

Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
Experience preparing statutory accounts and tax returns
Knowledge of corporation tax, self-assessment and VAT
Experience using Xero and/or Sage
AAT, ACA, ACCA qualified, studier or qualified by experience
Strong communication and organisational skills
Proactive approach and excellent attention to detail
