PPA Cover Teacher
Location: Merton, London
Salary: £160 – £200 per day
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Start Date: 1 September 2026
Phase: Primary – KS1/KS2
Salary will reflect experience and qualifications in line with the London Teachers' Pay Scale.

Teach Now is seeking a confident and flexible PPA Cover Teacher to join a supportive primary school in Merton from September 2026. This role is ideal for a qualified teacher who enjoys variety, strong classroom practice and the opportunity to teach across different year groups without the full responsibilities of a class teacher role.
The school is a welcoming and inclusive primary setting with a positive staff culture and a clear focus on pupil progress. Leaders are supportive, expectations are consistent and teachers are encouraged to deliver engaging lessons that help children feel confident and motivated.

The Role
As a PPA Cover Teacher, you will provide planned cover across KS1 and KS2 while class teachers complete their planning, preparation and assessment time. You will deliver lessons across different classes, maintain strong routines and ensure pupils continue to receive high-quality learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities
• Deliver planned lessons across KS1 and KS2.
• Follow class planning and adapt teaching where appropriate.
• Maintain positive behaviour and clear classroom expectations.
• Support pupils across a range of subjects and abilities.
• Work collaboratively with class teachers, teaching assistants and phase leaders.
• Provide feedback on pupil engagement and learning.
• Create an inclusive and purposeful learning environment in every class.

Requirements
• Qualified Teacher Status, QTS.
• Experience teaching in UK primary schools.
• Confidence working across KS1 and KS2.
• Strong behaviour management and classroom organisation.
• Flexible, reliable and professional approach.
• Good understanding of the primary curriculum.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.

Benefits
• Full-time role starting September 2026.
• Competitive daily rate of £160 – £200.
• Opportunity to teach across multiple year groups.
• Reduced planning responsibility compared with a class teacher post.
• Supportive Merton primary school with a collaborative staff team.
• Ongoing support from Teach Now throughout the process.
This is a strong opportunity for an experienced primary teacher, cover teacher or adaptable classroom practitioner who wants a varied and rewarding role in a positive school environment.
