PPA Cover Teacher – Primary

Location: Dartford, Kent

Salary: £160–£200 per day

Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary

Start date: 21 September 2026

A friendly and well-established primary school in Dartford is looking for a confident and adaptable PPA Cover Teacher to provide high-quality teaching across the school.

This varied role is ideal for a teacher who enjoys working with different year groups and can quickly establish positive classroom routines. Lessons and curriculum guidance will be available, although the successful PPA Cover Teacher will be expected to deliver content confidently, adapt activities where needed and maintain continuity in pupils’ learning.

Responsibilities

• Delivering planned lessons while class teachers receive PPA time

• Teaching across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 as required

• Adapting lessons to meet pupils’ differing abilities and additional needs

• Maintaining established routines and high standards of behaviour

• Assessing pupils’ understanding and providing useful feedback

• Working effectively with teaching assistants and year-group teams

• Ensuring a smooth handover to class teachers

• Providing a positive and consistent experience for pupils

• Following all school safeguarding, curriculum and behaviour policies

Requirements

• UK Qualified Teacher Status

• Recent experience teaching within UK primary schools

• Good knowledge of the primary national curriculum

• Confidence teaching across more than one primary phase

• Strong classroom and behaviour-management skills

• The ability to follow existing plans while responding flexibly to pupils’ needs

• Excellent organisation, communication and time management

• A dependable and professional approach
