This is a key role within the business, responsible for producing accurate, commercially sound estimates for high-voltage electrical infrastructure projects across 11kV to 132kV networks, including renewable energy and battery storage schemes.

If you have experience working on ICP connections, DNO interface works, or large-scale grid infrastructure, this is an excellent opportunity to take the next step in your career within a fast-growing and future-focused sector.

The Role

As Power Estimator, you will play a critical part in the pre-construction and tendering process, producing detailed cost estimates and supporting the successful bidding of complex electrical infrastructure projects.

You will be working across a variety of schemes including:

* Solar PV connections

* Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

* High Voltage (HV) & Extra High Voltage (EHV) network works

* ICP contestable works and DNO interface projects

Key Responsibilities

* Prepare accurate cost estimates for 11kV–132kV electrical infrastructure projects

* Interpret technical drawings, single line diagrams, and grid connection designs

* Produce pricing for ICP contestable works and DNO non-contestable elements

* Assess labour, materials, plant, and subcontractor costs

* Liaise with engineers, project managers, and commercial teams to develop tender submissions

* Review and assess grid connection requirements and technical specifications

* Work with supply chain partners to obtain accurate and competitive pricing

* Identify risks, constraints, and opportunities within tender documentation

* Support bid strategy and commercial decision-making

About You

We are looking for someone with strong technical knowledge of power distribution and estimating within the utilities sector.

You will ideally have:

* Experience estimating HV/EHV electrical infrastructure projects

* Strong understanding of ICP and DNO processes

* Experience within solar, BESS, or renewable energy connections

* Knowledge of 11kV–132kV network design and installation

* Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail

* Ability to interpret technical drawings and grid connection documents

* Experience working within utilities, power, or electrical infrastructure sectors

Desirable Experience

* Previous work with ICPs, DNOs, or electrical contractors

* Experience in bid preparation or tendering environments

* Understanding of National Grid connection processes

* Familiarity with civils associated with electrical infrastructure projects

What’s on Offer

* Competitive salary depending on experience

* Long-term career progression within a growing energy division

* Opportunity to work on major UK renewable and grid infrastructure projects

* Supportive and technically strong team environment

* Exposure to cutting-edge solar and battery storage schemes
