Poultry Catcher

Description:

The Role:

• Safely and humanely catch, handle, and load poultry in line with strict animal welfare standards
• Work as part of a team to collect birds from designated sheds and prepare them for transport
• Place birds carefully into crates, ensuring minimal stress and adherence to welfare guidelines
• Maintain high levels of hygiene and biosecurity at all times, including PPE use and sanitation procedures
• Assist with loading and unloading vehicles in a controlled and efficient manner
• Follow all site-specific health and safety procedures while working in farm and production environments
• Carry out basic checks on equipment and report any issues or concerns to the site supervisor
• Work in varying farm conditions, including early starts and physically demanding environments

Experience:

Previous experience in poultry catching or agricultural/farm work preferred but not essential as training can be provided
Manual Handling experience
Comfortable working indoors in farm sheds and in varying weather/temperature conditions

Strong teamwork skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately
Good communication skills and a positive attitude toward repetitive but essential tasks
