Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are looking for an experienced Artworker on behalf of their client. 

Joining their artwork department, they are a leading company that specialises in the supply of POS/POP within the temporary and permanent display industry.

 The Job:

Create accurate, production ready artwork files from briefs using brand guidelines, assets and technical drawings for point of sale and retail display items. Ensuring every file meets print specifications relating to materials and brand expectations before output to production.

Key responsibilities

Artwork creation and adaptation

Create, adapt and amend artwork for point-of-sale, retail-display units in line with supplied briefs. Translate the creative concepts and client-supplied files into accurate, production-ready artwork across multiple formats, sizes and substrates.
Follow client brand guidelines precisely and consistently including typography, colour, imagery, logos and mandatory content.
Apply cutter guides, bleeds, print free and other technical production requirements correctly.
Retouch, resize and optimise images where required while maintaining appropriate resolution and quality.
Pre-press checks and quality control

Prepare and issue accurate proofs for internal and client approval, clearly identifying version status and any points requiring confirmation.
Preflight all artwork before proofing and release to production, checking content, scale, resolution, colour space, fonts and imagery.
Review cutter guides and technical drawings to ensure artwork aligns correctly with the intended construction and visible areas.
Identify artwork, specification or brief discrepancies early and raise potential production issues to the reporting manager.
Workflow, files and production support

Manage assigned artwork jobs through the studio workflow, prioritising tasks in line with production schedules and agreed deadlines.
Liaise with Client Services, Design, Planning and Production to confirm specifications and resolve any technical queries.
Support Production with artwork-related questions, first-offs and amendments, responding promptly where delivery may be affected.
Communication, accountability and team support

Take ownership of artwork accuracy and communicate progress, risks and changes promptly to the colleagues affected.
Work from approved briefs and specifications, raising unclear, incomplete or conflicting information before proceeding.
Manage multiple live jobs calmly and accurately, balancing quality with the pace required by manufacturing deadlines.
Share technical knowledge, support colleagues and help maintain consistent artwork standards and working practices.
Build effective relationships across the business and contribute positively to a collaborative, solution-focused culture.

Working Monday to Friday 8am-5pm with a 4pm finish on a Friday
Salary is negotiable, depending on your experience
Candidate requirements:

Experience in an artwork or pre-press role within print, point-of-sale or retail-display production.
Advanced working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat.
Strong understanding of print-production principles, including colour, resolution and file preparation.
Excellent attention to detail, with a disciplined approach to checking copy and technical specifications.
Good understanding of layout and brand consistency, with the ability to reproduce approved designs accurately and efficiently.
Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and changing priorities.
Clear written and verbal communication skills and confidence raising technical questions with colleagues at all levels.
Able to work independently, follow approval controls and make sound day-to-day artwork decisions within agreed procedures.
Proactive, flexible and calm under pressure, with a practical and solution-focused approach.
Experience of large-format digital print, working with technical drawings and a variety of materials within a print production environment is desirable
