The Company
The Company Our client is a specialist manufacturer due to sustained growth they are now looking to recruit a Polymer Technologist.
The Role
* To contribute to the development of new products and provide technical support to customers.
* Evolution of existing products and processes.
* Provide technical support and assistance for: internal customers, inter-company personnel, external customers and suppliers.
* Management of product evaluation and testing as agreed with departmental manager.
* Manage and control formulation changes in response to product and process requirements.
* Ensure products comply with current regulations and quality requirements, through establishing control specifications and testing procedures.
* Effectively manage all projects including improvement activities and technical trials.
* Manage and control resource as appropriate within role.
* Support the continuous improvement culture by participating, motivating and managing teams to achieve process and product improvements.
* Report all work effectively to ensure that knowledge is transferred to appropriate personnel and objectives and timing plans are achieved.
* Provide technical support and expertise for customers. Understand their manufacturing processes as well and legislative requirements.
The Person
* Degree (BSc, MSc, PhD etc.) in Chemistry, Polymer Science or Material Science is essential.
* Previous industrial or post-graduation experience within polymer industry is advantageous.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively.
* Knowledge of new product development, process safety, optimisation, and improvements.
* Ability to plan, organise, carry out testing work and to analyse results.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
* Self-motivated, inquisitive, and pro-active.
