Burman Recruitment are thrilled to be working with a University based in the East Midlands seeking a PMO Analyst to join their Change Portfolio Management Office.

Our university's Change and Portfolio Management Office (CPMO) is dedicated to enhancing the effectiveness and consistency of key projects and programs, fostering transparent communication and assurance among internal and external stakeholders. We are committed to driving strategic initiatives forward and ensuring priority projects meet their objectives.

As a Portfolio and Project Management Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining, enhancing, and supporting the Portfolio Management process within the CPMO. Your responsibilities will span across data analysis, insights generation, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals seeking to deepen their theoretical knowledge and practical experience in project management.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with CPMO colleagues to continuously improve the portfolio management framework, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
Maintain the accuracy of the portfolio log and support colleagues in adhering to portfolio management guidelines.
Proactively analyze the portfolio log to identify anomalies, concerns, or areas for improvement, and develop actionable proposals.
Utilize reporting tools to integrate data sources for insightful analysis, aiding strategic decision-making.
Present information in a clear and user-friendly manner through appropriate tools and mediums.
Support dependency management processes and provide key project insights to the CPMO Manager & Business Partner.
Facilitate demand and portfolio review meetings, maintaining records of approvals.
Assist in strategic planning and decision-making by providing timely and accurate data from CPMO processes.

Person Specification

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent sector experience.
Professional certification in project, program, or portfolio management (e.g., Prince2, APM, PMP, P3O, PPSO, MoP) is advantageous.

Experience

Familiarity with PMO processes, standards, and governance.
Proficiency in project management tools and data analysis.
Experience in fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Ability to generate standard and bespoke data reports.
Proficient in producing clear and concise reports and narratives.
Strong teamwork and prioritization skills, with the ability to work independently.
Demonstrated ownership and accountability for project outcomes.
Previous experience in a fast-paced, multi-faceted administrative/analysis role.
