PMLD Teaching Assistant

About the role
This EYFS, Primary, Secondary and Post-16 SEND school, based in Penzance is looking to appoint a passionate PMLD Teaching Assistant to work in either Key Stage 1, 2, 3 or 4 classes on a full-time basis. Working in this SEND school as part of an established team, the desired PMLD Teaching Assistant will be working on a small class size and 1-to-1 basis with pupils with SEND including Autism, MLD, SLD, PMLD, ADHD, Specific Learning Difficulties, Complex Medical Needs and Speech and Language Difficulties. The role will be full time, long term and strong applicants will be encouraged to apply for a permanent position. You must be happy with feeding and changing and being involved in hydrotherapy sessions supporting children in and out of the pool. There is a requirement to help with moving and supporting the children. Manual handling training is not essential but desirable.
This role is suitable for individuals who have worked in care settings, youth support settings and children residential settings.
