Our client, a leading organisation within the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a PM Interface Support professional to join their team in Samlesbury on a contract basis. The role spans over 12 months with hybrid working arrangements, emphasising the need for 2-3 days on-site per week

Interface Project Management Support for a complex strategic change programme to fundamentally reshape the way that Support & Services operates across the sector. The change programme applies to the whole of the air sector and involves changing how we do support, where we do support within the organization, and how we go about strategically developing and growing the support business at the sector level. The change is highly complex because it is being done to a live operational business worth approx. £6.2bn.The change includes changing the balance of where power & control sits within the organisation and for this reason is highly challenging in terms of stakeholder management, as well demanding a high level of comm's and engagement with the affected population.The individual in this role will work as part of the PM Transition Team within Support and Services (S&S) helping to design, manage and deliver the transition from the current support environment operated by the Air business to the future state designated through the Ignition 35 activities - at the level of a support PM to PM Leads.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide project support within change management and transformation initiatives.
Facilitate communication and collaboration between various project stakeholders.
Monitor project progress and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Assist in the preparation and management of project documentation.
Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
Support the project management function with administrative and coordination tasks.
Maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones.
Perform regular reporting and updates to senior management on project status.
Support the Interface PM to manage the full project lifecycle to ensure that, over time, the needs of customers/users continue to be met and that financial and other benefits are achieved.

Identify, assesses and manages risks to the success of the project. Applies appropriate PM methods and tools whether predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches. Agrees project approach with stakeholders, and prepares realistic plans (including quality, risk and communications plans) and tracks activities against the project schedule, managing stakeholder involvement as appropriate.

Consolidate expertise from multiple sources, including third party experts, to provide coherent advice to further organisational objectives. Supports and promotes the development and sharing of specialist knowledge within the organisation.

Job Requirements:

Proficiency in managing change and transformation projects.
Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
Good understanding of the structure, organisation, processes and culture of Line of Business, so as to be able to support implementation of appropriate PM approaches.Applies problem solving techniques to routine situations or situations of moderate complexity under limited supervision, in the field of PM, taking requirements and data from internal (project) sources and external (customer, competitor and academic) areas.

An ability to gather information. Supports development of solutions and of implementation approaches.
