Plumbing Supervisor

West London
Job Type: Temp-to-Perm
Pay Rate: £32.50 per hour

Job Overview

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Plumbing Supervisor to join a busy property services team, overseeing plumbing and multi-trade operatives delivering repairs and maintenance across residential properties.

The successful candidate will have a strong plumbing background, with essential experience in uPVC plumbing, alongside a broad multi-trade understanding and proven experience managing and motivating operatives in a challenging environment.

Knowledge of Awaab's Law, damp and mould, and housing disrepair would be highly desirable. The role requires a confident, hands-on supervisor who can manage performance, maintain high standards of workmanship and ensure repairs are completed safely, efficiently and within required timescales.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a temp-to-perm position within a demanding, fast-paced property maintenance environment.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and manage a team of plumbers and multi-trade operatives carrying out responsive repairs and maintenance.

Oversee daily workloads, allocate jobs and monitor productivity to ensure service targets are achieved.

Provide strong leadership, managing performance, attendance and conduct where required.

Carry out quality inspections and ensure all works meet the required standards of safety and workmanship.

Use your technical plumbing knowledge, particularly uPVC plumbing, to support operatives and resolve complex issues.

Ensure repairs are completed within agreed timescales, prioritising emergency works and urgent hazards.

Work closely with planners, schedulers and management to coordinate workloads and minimise delays.

Ensure health and safety procedures, risk assessments and relevant compliance requirements are followed.

Support the delivery of damp and mould-related repairs, with an understanding of the requirements and timescales associated with Awaab's Law.

Monitor job completion, identify recurring issues and drive improvements in service delivery and customer satisfaction.

Essential Requirements

Strong plumbing background with essential uPVC plumbing experience.

Broad multi-trade knowledge, ideally within social housing, property maintenance or responsive repairs.

Proven experience supervising and managing trade operatives.

Confident handling challenging teams and addressing performance issues effectively.

Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Good understanding of health and safety requirements and quality standards.

Desirable Experience

Knowledge of Awaab's Law and its implications for social housing repairs.

Experience working with damp and mould, housing disrepair or property compliance.

Previous experience within a local authority or housing association
