Experienced Plumber Looking for a Permanent Opportunity?Build Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Plumber to join an established reactive maintenance team, carrying out repairs and maintenance across social housing and council properties throughout North West London.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Plumber looking for long-term job security, a permanent contract, company van, fuel card and plenty of overtime and call-out opportunities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for completing a wide range of plumbing repairs and maintenance works within occupied properties, working directly in tenants' homes and delivering a high standard of workmanship and customer service.

Occasional IslingtonThe role offers a local patch, helping to keep travelling manageable while providing consistent work across the area.

The Role – PlumberYou will be responsible for carrying out responsive repairs and day-to-day plumbing maintenance within occupied social housing and council properties.

The role will involve diagnosing plumbing faults, completing repairs efficiently and aiming for first-time fixes wherever possible.

Your day-to-day duties will include:
Carrying out all aspects of plumbing repairs and maintenance
Diagnosing and repairing leaks, blockages and plumbing faults
Repairing and replacing taps, valves, toilets, sinks, baths and showers
Installing and repairing basins, toilets and bathroom fittings
Carrying out repairs to hot and cold-water systems
Repairing and replacing pipework and associated plumbing components
Completing kitchen and bathroom plumbing repairs
Carrying out repairs to central heating and associated plumbing systems where applicable
Completing responsive repairs within occupied properties
Diagnosing faults and identifying suitable repair solutions
Carrying out first-time fixes wherever possible
Completing jobs within required response times
Working safely and efficiently within residents' homes
Keeping work areas clean and tidy
Providing excellent customer service to tenants and residents
Updating job information and completing PDA records where required
Working independently while maintaining communication with the wider teamSocial Housing ExperiencePrevious experience working within social housing, housing associations, council properties, local authority maintenance or domestic property repairs would be highly desirable.

You should be comfortable working in occupied homes and understand the importance of:

Experience working in occupied properties
Social housing / council / housing association experience preferred
Good knowledge of reactive maintenance
Ability to diagnose problems and work independently
Strong attention to detail
Good communication and customer service skills
A professional and reliable approach
Full UK Driving Licence – essential
Own tools – desirableQualificationsNVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds in Plumbing would be advantageous, although candidates with strong relevant practical experience will also be considered.
