Position: Plumber

Location: Council Offices, Southfield Road, Loughborough, LE11 2TX

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Duration: 3+ Months - This position is Monday - Thursday 8am -4pm & Fridays 8am -3.30pm

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week

Pay Rate: £14.00 per hour

Job Responsibilities

Carry out reactive plumbing repairs and maintenance in council tenanted properties.

Diagnose plumbing faults and complete repairs efficiently and to a high standard.

Undertake a range of plumbing maintenance tasks, ensuring work is safe and compliant with relevant standards.

Provide a professional and customer-focused service to tenants.

Complete work to a high-quality finish, taking pride in workmanship.

Work effectively as part of the repairs and maintenance team.

Maintain accurate records of completed work and report any further issues identified.

Follow health and safety procedures, council policies and safe working practices.

Respond to repair requests and complete work within required timescales.

Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a safe and appropriate condition.

Person Specification

Essential

Standard plumbing qualification or substantial practical plumbing experience.

Strong practical plumbing and maintenance skills.

Experience carrying out reactive repairs, preferably within residential or social housing properties.

Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

High standard of workmanship with strong attention to detail.

Customer-focused approach and professional communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Good understanding of health and safety requirements.

Reliable, punctual and able to manage a daily workload effectively.

Eligible to work in the UK.
