Plater Welder

Description:

My busy Chesterfield based client are currently seeking experienced and talented Platers / Fabricators / MIG Welders for their impressive, modern facility with immediate effect.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* MIG welding, fabrication and development on bespoke steel fabrications in a heavy engineering environment.

* Using varying workshop tools, plant and machinery.

* Working from engineering drawings & specifications.

* Expert level of building parts/assemblies to engineering drawings.

* Welding to a high quality.

* Measuring and marking out plate and sections for cutting, shaping and drilling.

* Adherence to all health & safety policies and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience needed:

* Confident plater or fabricator

* Experience in welding, drilling, tapping & cutting

* Aptitude for interpretation of engineering drawings and working from scratch

* Ideally apprentice trained or relevant qualifications.

* Confident MIG Welder

* Experience operating fabrication machinery

* Must have worked within a heavy steel industry

* Confident working from engineering drawings from scratch.

Working Hours / Benefits

* Monday to Thursday 7.00am to 4.00pm

* Friday 7.00am to 12.00pm

* Rate of pay - £16 per hour

* Overtime – 1.5x

* 12-week temp to perm
