Dutton Recruitment (Sheffield Engineering) are recruiting for:

We are looking for a Plater for a long-term contract with our client in Billington

Immediate start available (subject to interview process)

Rate of pay is £18.00 to £19.00 per hour (depending on experience)

This does have the potential to go permanent for the right candidate

Key Responsibilities

Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and fabrication specifications.
Marking out, cutting, shaping and preparing steel components for fabrication.
Carrying out platework and structural fabrication activities.
Using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment safely and effectively.
Preparing materials prior to welding and assembly.
Working to tight tolerances and maintaining high-quality standards.
Carrying out self-inspection of completed work.
Ensuring all work is completed in line with company procedures and health & safety requirements.
Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.Candidate Requirements

Previous experience working as a Plater within an engineering or fabrication environment.
Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
Experience with marking out, cutting and preparing steel plate.
Strong understanding of fabrication processes.
Ability to use workshop tools and equipment confidently.
Good attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Positive attitude with good reliability and timekeeping.Experience within heavy engineering, structural fabrication, machinery manufacture or similar industries would be advantageous.
