Plant Manager Roles and responsibilities
Roles
* Monitor the external hire of mechanical plant and coordinate with our sites on internal plant availability. On average there are 15-20 live sites at any given time
* Run comparison analysis on hire and purchase to determine the most cost effective option for the company on all equipment.
* Maintain all relevant documentation for the HGV fleet in accordance with Department of Transport guidelines.
* Maintain all records for driver’s tachographs, driver’s hours, working time directive, preventative maintenance inspections ensuring compliance with all relevant organisations such as VOSA, DVLA, Transport for London, Department of Transport & Metropolitan Police to safeguard company O licence. Review ORSA tracking for HGV and fleet.
* Fulfilling contracts and company needs & requirements by sourcing and locating all relevant plant and equipment in a timely, controlled and cost effective fashion.
* Maintain new internal plant control measure and costing system
* Updating current system in line with all relevant legislation
* Update and maintain main yard’s in line with company standards and maintain plant to our company & client standards
* We currently have over 400 assets tagged and logged on our internal plant software system, Maintain all records and update with new additions as and when these are tagged by yard personnel
* Material stores system is set up. Log all internal material issues to all sites. Review prices periodically and adjust where required.
* Set up and maintain SLA with external providers and external hire companies.
* Maintain internal service records and external service records including all LOLER certification
* Drivers downloads set up on 28 day download.
* Monitor, Maintain and issue all thorough examination for all Plant.
* Review all plant and equipment in line with NRMM legislation in the London region
* Review all driver licence checks on 6 monthly rotation via on line drivers checker system set up
Ambitions
* Streamline issuing of plant and equipment in order to reduce cost.
* Review Tracking system for vehicles.
* Maintain current accreditation FORS. Review further fleet accreditation such as CLOCs and Van excellence inline with new vehicle purchase
* Maintain drivers CPC
* Set up internal PAT testing. Identify operative for training and liaise with training providers and H&S Manager to complete.
* Work in conjunction with Easy build to develop further reporting system for both Internal and External plant
* Set up Routes for Wide load movements
