Plant Maintenance Engineer

Relocation Opportunity | Argyll, Scotland

Company Housing Provided

Looking for a different pace of life?

Imagine finishing work and looking out over rolling hills, lochs and one of Scotland's most spectacular landscapes instead of sitting in traffic.

Imagine a role where you're trusted to solve problems, work independently, and genuinely make a difference every single day.

Our client Ormsary Estate, are looking for a practical, hands-on Plant Maintenance Engineer to join their small engineering team.

This isn't a production line.

It isn't a factory.

It's a unique engineering role where no two days are ever the same.

One day you could be maintaining a hydroelectric turbine.

The next you could be repairing pumps at a fish farm, welding fabrication work, laying electrical cables, working alongside contractors or helping commission a brand-new renewable energy project.

If you're the sort of engineer who enjoys getting stuck in, finding solutions and turning your hand to almost anything mechanical or electrical, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll be working on

You'll help maintain and develop a fascinating mix of engineering assets including:

* Hydroelectric schemes

* Wind turbines

* Fish farming facilities

* Pumps, compressors, valves and boilers

* Water treatment systems

* Electrical installations

* Fabrication and welding

* Estate engineering projects

* Planned and reactive maintenance

You'll also become part of the Duty Engineer rota (approximately one week in every four), responding to breakdowns and ensuring essential systems continue operating safely.

About You

You'll ideally be:

* A qualified Mechanical Engineer with good electrical knowledge (or vice versa)

* Experienced within plant, manufacturing, utilities, heavy engineering, industrial maintenance or similar

* Comfortable fault finding on both mechanical and electrical equipment

* Practical, adaptable and happy to turn your hand to a wide variety of engineering challenges

* Someone who enjoys taking ownership and working as part of a close-knit team

* Holder of a full UK driving licence

Experience with hydro, renewables or aquaculture isn't essential—full training will be provided.

What matters most is attitude, practical ability and a willingness to learn.

The Lifestyle

Let's be honest...

This role won't suit everyone.

Ormsary Estate is located in one of Scotland's most beautiful rural locations.

Life here is quieter.

Slower.

Less hectic.

If you're looking for nightlife and city living, this probably isn't the role for you.

But if you've always dreamed of escaping the daily rush, raising a family somewhere safe, or simply living somewhere surrounded by nature, this could be one of the best decisions you'll ever make.

The local community is welcoming and close-knit, with a nearby primary school, secondary school and community hall.

Company housing is provided as part of the package, making relocation straightforward.

What You'll Receive

* Competitive salary

* Company housing

* Pension

* Ongoing engineering training and development

* Exposure to renewable energy technologies

* Varied, interesting engineering work

* A unique lifestyle in one of Scotland's most beautiful locations

* Long-term career security within a well-established estate

Some engineering jobs offer more money.

Some offer bigger companies.

Very few offer the opportunity to build a career while enjoying an exceptional quality of life.

If you're ready for a fresh challenge—and perhaps a fresh start—we'd love to hear from you.

We would be deligthed to receive applications from ex-services professionals with an engineering background
