Horticultural Manager | Didcot, South Oxfordshire

Salary: Up to £35,000

Hours: Full-time, Alternate Weekends

Are you an experienced department manager or supervisor looking to take a step into garden retail? We're working with a garden centre group that's looking for a passionate Manager for their Plant Area, to lead the plant department at one of their larger sites. If you're in retail management and have an interest in horticulture, then this is a great step into a highly-respected and growing garden centre group.

About the role
As Plant Area Manager, you'll take full responsibility for the day-to-day running and performance of the plant area. You'll lead and develop your team, maintain exceptional retail standards, and use your horticultural knowledge to create an inspiring shopping experience that keeps customers coming back. This is a great position for someone who enjoys being hands-on!

Key responsibilities

Leading and developing the team to deliver excellent customer service
Managing the day-to-day operation and performance of the plant department
Planning seasonal plant displays and maintaining high retail standards throughout the year
Delivering sales targets and achieving KPIs
Managing stock levels, ordering, and reducing waste where possible
Providing horticultural advice
Creating attractive, well-maintained plant displays through excellent merchandising and stock presentation

The ideal candidate

Retail management experience and a genuine passion for plants
A hands-on approach with excellent leadership and organisational skills
Commercial awareness with the ability to drive sales and maintain high retail standards
A passion for delivering exceptional customer service
