Planning Project Manager / Graduate

Location: Bodmin, Cornwall
Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 DOE
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

ARM is recruiting on behalf of a leading UK renewable energy developer for a Planning Project Manager / Graduate to join their growing planning team in Cornwall. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career planner to develop hands-on experience across renewable energy development, with exposure to wind, solar PV, and battery storage projects.

Role Overview

You will support the planning team in delivering feasibility studies, planning applications, and site identification work across a range of renewable energy projects throughout the UK. The role offers a strong development pathway into project management and planning within the renewable energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

Support preparation and submission of planning applications.
Assist with planning research, policy review, and site feasibility assessments.
Produce plans, drawings, and visual materials to support planning submissions.
Review and assess potential sites for wind, solar PV, and battery storage development.
Conduct site identification work across the UK for renewable energy opportunities.
Assist with GIS mapping and spatial analysis to support project development.
Work closely with technical and engineering teams to support project delivery.

Essential Requirements

Degree in Planning, Renewable Energy, Environmental Studies, Geography, or a related discipline.
Experience using ArcGIS and AutoCAD.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Methodical, accurate, and process-driven approach.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Desirable Skills

Interest or experience in the renewable energy sector, particularly wind energy.
Knowledge of planning policy and development processes in the UK.
Membership or working towards membership of Royal Town Planning Institute or Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment.
Full UK driving licence.
