Planning Manager / Lead - Energy Performance Contracts (EPC)

Location: Leeds
Salary: £80,000 - £100,000

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Planning Manager / Lead to join a growing Energy Performance Contracting (EPC) team, delivering decarbonisation, energy and infrastructure projects across a diverse portfolio.

This is an excellent opportunity for a planning professional to play a key role in programme development, project controls and delivery assurance. Working closely with Project Managers, Commercial, Design, Procurement and Operational teams, you will develop and manage robust project programmes that drive successful outcomes while supporting the transition to a more sustainable future.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain fully logic-linked project programmes from inception through to project completion.
Manage integrated master programmes across multiple concurrent projects.
Produce and maintain cost-loaded and resource-loaded schedules.
Monitor project progress and performance against programme milestones.
Identify critical path risks and implement recovery plans where required.
Support NEC3 and NEC4 contract administration, including compensation event assessments and programme impacts.
Lead programme reviews and provide planning expertise to project teams and stakeholders.
Deliver accurate programme reporting, forecasting and performance analysis.
Challenge project teams and subcontractors to improve programme certainty and delivery performance.
Forecast resource requirements and support effective project planning and delivery.
Drive best practice in planning, scheduling and programme controls across the project portfolio.

Essential Experience & Skills

Proven experience within Energy Performance Contracting (EPC), decarbonisation, M&E, building services, energy or infrastructure projects.
Advanced user of ASTA Powerproject and Primavera P6.
Strong background managing complex construction, engineering, utilities or infrastructure programmes.
Excellent understanding of critical path analysis, programme risk management and recovery planning.
Experience working under NEC3 and NEC4 forms of contract.
Ability to influence stakeholders, challenge constructively and drive accountability across project teams.
Strong analytical, forecasting and reporting skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Experience developing cost-loaded and resource-loaded programmes.

Able to interpret project requirements and translate them into robust delivery programmes.
Proactive and solutions-focused with excellent attention to detail.
Comfortable working across multiple projects within a fast-paced environment.
Strong leadership and collaboration skills with the ability to influence project teams at all levels.
Commercially aware with a good understanding of programme-driven project delivery.
