Planning Coordinator
Location: Warrington
Contract Type: Inside IR35
Duration: 12 month contract

The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a Planning Coordinator to support the delivery of a major engineering programme within a highly regulated environment. This role offers the opportunity to work as part of a multidisciplinary project team, coordinating planning-related activities and ensuring compliance with relevant planning legislation, policies, and project requirements.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing planning matters throughout the project lifecycle, supporting the preparation of planning submissions, stakeholder engagement activities, and the delivery of planning strategies.

Key Responsibilities
Act as the primary point of contact for planning-related matters across the project.
Coordinate planning activities to support project delivery milestones and programme objectives.
Prepare and review planning applications, amendments, and associated documentation.
Develop planning strategies, planning risk assessments, and supporting reports.
Coordinate inputs from engineering, environmental, construction, and project management teams.
Support the production of planning statements, design and access documentation, and planning submission packages.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate planning approvals and regulatory compliance.
Assist with the management and discharge of planning conditions where required.
Monitor planning-related risks, issues, and opportunities, ensuring appropriate mitigation measures are implemented.
Produce regular progress reports and communicate planning status updates to project leadership.
Ensure planning deliverables are completed to the required quality standards and within agreed timescales.
Support project teams in interpreting planning requirements and integrating them into project execution plans.Candidate Requirements
Degree qualified in Town Planning, Geography, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Membership of a relevant professional institution is desirable.
Previous experience within planning, development, infrastructure, engineering, construction, or major project environments.
Strong understanding of UK planning legislation, policies, and development control processes.
Experience preparing planning applications, strategies, reports, and supporting documentation.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strong organisational and coordination abilities with the capability to manage multiple priorities.
Proficient in coordinating multidisciplinary teams and technical inputs.
Experience within highly regulated sectors such as nuclear, defence, energy, utilities, infrastructure, or transportation would be advantageous.Desirable Experience
Large-scale infrastructure or capital project delivery.
Environmental planning and consenting processes.
Planning risk management and regulatory engagement.
Working within complex stakeholder environments.
