Project Planner

Location: Manchester (Hybrid Working Available)
Job Type: Permanent

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Project Planner to join my clients growing team. Working closely with Project Managers, Design Managers, and technical teams, you will develop, maintain, and monitor project programmes, helping to identify risks, opportunities, and critical milestones throughout the project lifecycle.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and turning complex information into clear, achievable project plans.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain project programmes using Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6.
Collaborate with Project Managers and technical teams to establish realistic project schedules.
Monitor project progress against programme, identifying potential delays, risks, and opportunities.
Produce regular programme updates and progress reports for internal stakeholders and clients.
Identify critical paths and recommend mitigation or recovery plans where required.
Support resource planning and forecasting across multiple projects.
Assist with the preparation of tender programmes and project bids.
Attend project meetings, providing planning expertise and programme support.
Ensure planning information is accurate, up to date, and aligned with project objectives.
Promote best practice in project planning and programme management.About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Previous experience in a planning role within engineering, infrastructure or similar.
Water or rail experience would be beneficial.
Experience using project planning software such as Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6.
Strong organisational and analytical skills.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
The ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
A proactive approach with strong attention to detail.
