Piping Design Engineer
Ely, Cambridgeshire
9:00am – 5:00pm Monday to Friday (Hybrid working – 3 days office, 2 days home)
£38,000 - £50,000 depending on experience

Our client based in Ely is seeking a design engineer with previous experience in designing pipework/assemblies for bespoke engineering packages.
You will have knowledge of current legislation and piping codes such as ASME B31.3 and British standards.

Duties to include:
* Laying out pipe routing on process drawings, pipe specifications and project requirements (e.g space restrictions, process requirements and maintenance access).
* Generate conceptual 3D models.
* Perform pipe stress analysis using Caesar II software and producing detailed pipe stress reports.
* Create 2D CAD drawings such as piping isometrics, fabrication drawings and GA’s for manufacture.
* Producing BOMs for purchasing.
* Reviewing and interpreting customer specifications and national/international codes and standards.
* Resolve technical queries.
* Participate in key meetings
* Occasion travel to a second office and site visits with clients.
* Perform pipe support calculations.
* Manage Junior CAD staff
Skills/Experience Required:
* Proficient in CAD Software (2D AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Caesar II and Navisworks)
* Previous experience in designing pipework/assemblies for bespoke engineering packages.
* Excellent communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
* Degree or HND qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
