Level 2 Pest Control Technician – Progression into Management
Location: Oxfordshire
Salary: £32,000 – £42,000 depending on experience
Position: Permanent, Full-Time
An established and growing pest control company based in Oxfordshire is looking to recruit an experienced Level 2 Pest Control Technician to join its team.
This is a little different from a standard technician position.
The company is particularly interested in speaking with someone who enjoys the technical side of pest control but is now looking to progress their career towards a management position.
You will initially be involved in delivering pest control services across the company's client base, while gradually taking on additional responsibility and working closely with the Managing Director.
The long-term aim is for the successful person to become increasingly involved in the day-to-day running of the operation, helping to manage technicians, customers and workloads while taking some of the operational pressure away from the MD.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
* Carrying out pest control inspections, treatments and preventative works
* Identifying and treating a wide range of pest infestations
* Providing customers with professional advice and recommendations
* Completing treatment reports and maintaining accurate documentation
* Managing and developing relationships with commercial and residential clients
* Ensuring work is completed in accordance with industry legislation and best practice
* Supporting and providing guidance to other technicians
* Assisting with scheduling, workloads and the day-to-day coordination of jobs
* Helping resolve technical or customer issues
* Working closely with the Managing Director on the operational side of the business
* Gradually taking on greater supervisory and management responsibility as the role develops
The Person
We are looking for someone who:
* Holds a recognised Level 2 pest control qualification
* Has hands-on experience working as a Pest Control Technician
* Has a good technical understanding of pest control treatments and procedures
* Is confident dealing directly with customers
* Has strong communication and organisational skills
* Is reliable, professional and comfortable taking responsibility
* Is able to support and advise less experienced technicians
* Wants to progress beyond a purely field-based technician position
* Has a genuine interest in developing into supervision, operations or management
Previous management experience would be beneficial but isn't essential. The company is equally interested in an experienced technician who feels ready to take the next step in their career and wants the opportunity to develop their management skills.
Salary & Opportunity
£32,000 – £42,000 per annum, depending on experience.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious pest control professional who doesn't simply want another technician job.
