You will help students develop their independence, confidence and everyday life skills within a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment.

Working alongside teachers, therapists and the wider SEN team, you will provide individualised personal care and wellbeing support, helping students access educational activities and participate in school life as fully as possible.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide personal care, including support with toileting, washing, dressing and personal hygiene.

* Assist students with mobility, physical disabilities and sensory needs.

* Support medication administration in line with school policies, individual care plans and relevant training.

* Work closely with teaching and therapy staff to support students during lessons and daily routines.

* Promote independence, dignity and confidence while prioritising students' health and wellbeing.

* Contribute to a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment where every student feels valued.

* Follow individual care plans and support strategies while respecting students' privacy and dignity.

* Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure consistent, high-quality care and support.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

* Has previous experience in a care or support-based role.

* Has hands-on experience providing personal care, including toileting, washing, dressing and hygiene support.

* Is confident supporting individuals with Autism and complex additional needs.

* Is patient, compassionate, reliable and respectful.

* Can adapt their approach to meet individual physical, sensory and learning needs.

* Works effectively as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.

* Has strong communication skills and a person-centred approach.

* Understands the importance of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.

* Is passionate about helping students build independence and develop essential life skills.

Previous experience as a Care Assistant, Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant, Residential Support Worker or in a similar role is essential. Applicants must be comfortable providing personal care as a core part of their responsibilities.

What We Offer

* A welcoming and supportive SEN school environment.

* Full training and opportunities for continued professional development.

* The chance to work alongside experienced colleagues and a collaborative leadership team.

* Term-time-only working to support a healthy work-life balance.

* A temporary position with the potential to become permanent.

* The opportunity to transfer your existing care experience into a rewarding educational setting.

If you have practical experience in care and personal support and are looking for a rewarding opportunity to use your skills within education, we would love to hear from you
