Location: Huntingdon, PE29 3AD & South Cambridgeshire, CB2 9NL
Salary: £41,958 – £44,822 per annum
Working: Hybrid – office, home working & visits
Caseload: Approximately 25 cases
Interview: Microsoft Teams
9-day fortnight: Available, subject to team and service requirements
About the role
Cambridgeshire is looking for an experienced Social Worker – Assessment to join its Children's Services team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a committed social worker to undertake statutory assessments and work directly with children and families to achieve positive, sustainable outcomes.
Your responsibilities
You will:
* Lead statutory assessments and develop effective plans for children and families.
* Undertake Strategy Discussions and Section 47 enquiries.
* Prepare high-quality reports for court, including work under Sections 7, 37 and 31.
* Complete SWET assessments and care plans where required.
* Work collaboratively with children, families and partner agencies.
* Ensure children’s voices, needs and experiences remain central to your practice.
* Manage a caseload of approximately 25 cases while maintaining high-quality recording and professional standards.

Retention payment
Cambridgeshire offers an additional retention payment:
* After 1 year: 2.5% of the bottom of the grade – currently £1,049
* After 2 years: 7.5% – currently £3,147
* After 3 years: 10% – currently £4,196
* After 3 years: a flat-rate £1,500 annually thereafter
