We're looking for an experienced People Compliance Manager to strengthen our people’s compliance framework across the business. This is a high-profile role with responsibility for GDPR, ethical trade compliance, employment compliance and governance activities across a large, multi-site organisation. Reporting into and working closely with the HR Operations Manager, you'll play a key role in reducing risk, driving best practice and ensuring we continue to meet the highest standards of compliance and ethical conduct

What you'll do

Lead people compliance initiatives across GDPR, Modern Slavery and ethical trading requirements.

Manage SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit) and customer compliance audits, ensuring successful outcomes across multiple sites.

Oversee Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) and employee data governance.

Develop and maintain policies, procedures and compliance frameworks.

Deliver compliance training and promote best practice across the business.

Build strong relationships with auditors, regulators and internal stakeholders.

Analyse compliance risks and drive continuous improvement.

About you

You'll be a proactive and commercially minded compliance professional with:

Experience in HR compliance, governance, audit or HR operations.

Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and GDPR.

Experience managing audits and compliance programmes.

Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Manufacturing experience, knowledge of Sedex/SMETA and project management experience would be advantageous.
