Academics is working with a secondary school in Abingdon committed to providing an exceptional educational experience that promotes physical health, teamwork, and personal growth. We are looking for a PE Teacher with a gymnastics specialism to lead our gymnastics program and contribute to our comprehensive physical education curriculum.

Responsibilities:

Plan, deliver, and assess engaging PE lessons with a focus on gymnastics
Develop and implement a gymnastics curriculum that caters to students of varying skill levels
Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all students
Encourage student participation and enthusiasm for physical fitness and gymnastics
Organize and oversee gymnastics events, competitions, and extracurricular activities
Collaborate with colleagues to integrate physical education with other subject areas
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of PE and gymnastics teaching methods and safety standards

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field
Teaching certification and relevant state licensure
Specialism in gymnastics with experience teaching gymnastics at the school level
Strong knowledge of PE and gymnastics curriculum standards
Excellent communication and classroom management skills
Ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their best
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
