PE Teacher
A secondary school is seeking an enthusiastic teacher to join its Physical Education department for the 2026/27 academic year. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who enjoys delivering a broad curriculum, promoting healthy lifestyles and encouraging pupils to achieve their personal best both inside and outside the classroom.
The department delivers a varied programme of practical and theoretical lessons, supported by quality indoor and outdoor facilities. Pupils participate in a wide range of activities throughout the year, with opportunities to represent the school in local competitions and extracurricular sport.
Teachers with experience of delivering a second secondary subject are encouraged to apply, as this would be an advantage when timetables are planned. Experience teaching Key Stage 5 is also welcomed but is not essential.
What you'll be doing
Teach Physical Education across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Deliver engaging practical and classroom-based lessons.
Assess pupil progress and provide constructive feedback.
Encourage participation, teamwork and positive sporting values.
Contribute to extracurricular clubs, fixtures or enrichment activities where appropriate.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards across the department.
Who we're looking for
Applications are welcomed from candidates who can demonstrate:
Experience teaching PE within a secondary school.
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
Excellent organisation and communication.
A commitment to supporting pupils of all abilities.
QTS is preferred.
Early Career Teachers are encouraged to apply.
Experience teaching an additional secondary subject would be beneficial.
