Location: Fareham area
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Maternity Cover (September 2026 – July 2027)
Pay: £168 – £260 per day (dependent on experience)

The Role

We are seeking a dedicated PE Teacher to join the school from September 2026 on a maternity cover basis through to July 2027.

You will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality PE lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, inspiring participation, confidence, and a lifelong interest in physical activity. You will be part of a supportive and well-established PE department that values inclusive practice and high standards.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons aligned with the national curriculum
Inspire students to take part in a wide range of physical activities and sports
Assess, monitor, and support student progress through effective feedback
Create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
Contribute to extracurricular sport and wider school activities
Uphold the school’s values of respect, resilience, and personal achievement

Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Degree in Physical Education or a related subject
Experience teaching PE across KS3 and KS4
Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the curriculum
Effective behaviour management and communication skills
Commitment to supporting students’ physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing
