Overview
BAE Systems Defence Solutions (Maritime Services) is looking for an experienced PCB Designer to join a small, specialist team delivering complex PCB designs for advanced electronic systems. You will take designs from early concepts through to complete manufacturing data packs, working closely with electronics, mechanical and manufacturing teams.
Key responsibilities
Produce large, complex multi-layer and multi-substrate PCB designs (team delivers circa 30 designs per year)
Work from initial concepts and schematics through to manufacturing release
Create and maintain manufacturing data packs
Support design and peer reviews
Collaborate with mechanical, electronic and manufacturing teams to ensure DFM and DFT considerations are included
Maintain and manage component libraries, databases and toolsets (including symbol/part creation)
Modify and maintain legacy designs
Support and mentor engineers and other designers, including training on constraints files and schematic/PCB toolsSkills and experience required
Expert-level Cadence Allegro experience (schematic capture and PCB layout)
Strong PCB layout experience for large, complex boards (up to 24 layers and 2000+ components)
Experience designing for controlled impedance, high speed digital, RF, mixed signal, high current, and large FPGA technologies
Experience with blind, buried and filled vias
Experience with complex mechanical profiles and enclosure/thermal/screening constraints
Understanding of ISO 9001 and IPC-610 standards
HND (or higher) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or equivalent experience
