Location: Diss, Norfolk
Hybrid: 3 days office / 2 days home
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
The Role
An opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to lead a UK Payroll Administration team, overseeing accurate and timely end-to-end payroll delivery within a large, fast-paced organisation.
Alongside managing the team, you’ll take ownership of complex payroll queries, compliance and reporting while playing a key role in process improvements, systems projects and payroll transformation.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, coach and develop the UK payroll team.
* Oversee accurate end-to-end UK payroll processing.
* Resolve complex payroll and employee queries.
* Ensure compliance with HMRC legislation, RTI, pensions and GDPR.
* Produce payroll reports and maintain strong controls.
* Partner with HR, Finance and other key stakeholders.
* Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and systems.
* Lead payroll projects including system upgrades and policy changes.
* Support payroll integration during mergers and acquisitions.
* Act as a key contact for internal and external audits.
Ideal Candidate
* Previous payroll team leadership/management experience is essential.
* Strong end-to-end UK payroll experience, ideally within a high-volume environment.
* Up-to-date knowledge of UK payroll legislation and compliance.
* Process improvement, payroll project or systems experience highly desirable.
* Strong Excel and general Microsoft Office skills.
* Confident managing complex payroll queries and senior stakeholders.
* Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
* Able to commute to Diss three days per week.
