Payroll Officer

Description:

Linde Material Handling are looking for a Payroll Officer to join their small friendly team based in Basingstoke, to support in effectively and efficiently processing monthly UK payrolls.

You will play a key role in ensuring a comprehensive payroll service and your duties will include;

* Support the Payroll Manager and payroll team in processing the company’s UK payrolls ensuring statutory and contractual compliance in all payroll processes

* Work in accordance with the payroll software provider’s managed service processes and deadlines

* Liaising closely with HR colleagues to accurately input payroll data to the payroll system, including data for starters and leavers, absence, statutory leave, earnings and deductions, fixed and variable

* Accurately calculating ad hoc payments for manual input to payroll system

* Collating and checking the data interface files from the HR system to be forwarded to payroll software provider

* Reviewing and checking payroll system output reports, liaising, when necessary, with the Payroll Manager regarding any corrections required

* Producing pay period, annual and ad hoc payroll reports and information for the business as required.

* Supporting the Payroll Manager in ensuring pension member information, held by the company’s pension providers is kept up to date. To administer pension member changes, such as starters, leavers, pensionable salary and contribution information in accordance with scheme rules and statutory deadlines

* Supporting the Payroll Manager in administering the company’s employee benefits, such as private medical insurance, childcare voucher and the share schemes.

* Assist in the annual preparation of P11D’s forms

* Completing HMRC, Jury Service, Court Order and Loss of Earnings forms when required

* Assisting the Payroll Manager in the preparation information and reports for internal and external payroll audits

* Assisting and supporting colleagues throughout the company to resolve payroll and company benefit queries

Essential Criteria

* End to end payroll processing experience

* Up to date knowledge of payroll legislation

* Computer literate with Microsoft Excel and Word experience

* Ability to work to deadlines

* Accurate data entry skills

* Good written and oral communication skills

* Professional and confidential manner
