Payroll Manager

Description:

Our client, based Oxfordshire, is excited to announce that they are looking for a new Payroll Manager.

They are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead UK payroll operations, compliance, systems improvement, and team performance across a multi-site organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Own accurate and timely monthly processing of seven UK payrolls, covering c.1,100 employees.

• Manage payroll controls, reconciliations, BACS, year-end, payroll accounting and balance sheet activities.

• Ensure UK payroll, HMRC, RTI, pension and statutory compliance, including pensions, statutory payments, benefits, deductions, bonuses and executive remuneration.

• Manage Cintra payroll services and external providers, ensuring service delivery and controls are maintained.

• Lead payroll systems, process improvement and automation, including Workday/SAP integrations, ServiceNow workflows and reporting.

• Support internal and external audits, including SOX controls, and partner with HR, Finance, IT and site teams to resolve payroll issues.

• Lead, coach and develop the payroll team and act as the UK payroll subject matter expert.

Requirements

• Significant UK payroll management experience in a medium/large organisation.

• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements.

• Strong payroll controls, reconciliation and audit experience.

• Experience with integrated HR/payroll/ERP systems.

• Proven payroll process improvement and change experience.

• Strong Excel and data analysis skills.

• CIPP or equivalent experience is desirable.

• Experience with Cintra, SAP, Workday, ServiceNow or Power BI is desirable.
