As the business continues to expand, there is genuine potential to progress into a more senior position and build a payroll team around you.

The Role

- Take full ownership of the end-to-end payroll process, managing both weekly and monthly payrolls.

- Currently processing approximately 60 weekly and 150 monthly employees, with numbers expected to increase through acquisitions.

- Prepare and manage payroll data using Excel spreadsheets before uploading into Sage Payroll.

- Ensure accurate and timely processing of salaries, deductions, overtime, statutory payments and other payroll adjustments.

- Manage deductions from earnings, including attachment of earnings orders and other statutory deductions.

- Administer Benefits in Kind (BIK), ensuring accurate calculations, reporting and compliance with HMRC requirements.

- Manage pension contributions and administration using NatWest Cushon.

- Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations, payroll legislation and statutory requirements.

- Handle payroll queries and resolve any discrepancies efficiently.

- Support the integration of new employees and payroll processes following acquisitions.

- Review and improve existing payroll processes to support the company's continued growth.

- Take ownership of the payroll function with the potential to develop and manage a team in the future.

About You

- Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll independently.

- Strong knowledge of both weekly and monthly payroll processes.

- Experience using Sage Payroll is highly desirable.

- Confident using Excel to prepare, reconcile and manage payroll data.

- Strong understanding of payroll legislation, PAYE, National Insurance and pension requirements.

- Knowledge of attachment of earnings orders, statutory deductions and Benefits in Kind.

- Experience handling payroll for multiple entities or within a growing business would be advantageous.

- Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines.

- A proactive, hands-on individual who is confident taking full responsibility for the payroll function.

What's on Offer?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an ambitious, acquisitive business at an exciting stage of its growth. With the position being newly created, you'll have the opportunity to make the role your own, improve processes and help shape the future payroll function.

For someone looking for a long-term opportunity, there is excellent scope for career progression, increased responsibility and the potential to build and lead a team as the business continues to expand
