We are working with an establish organisation who are committed to excellence in every aspect of their business. Currently seeking a skilled Payroll Manager on a 6 month fixed term contract basis to oversee and manage payroll for a diverse workforce. This role has a very strong potential to convert to a permanent position which can also include HR Advisory work and or business analysis,

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced payroll professional looking to take on a challenging and rewarding role within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Role Overview:

As the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for directly managing payroll processes for approximately 300 employees and have oversight of a further 200 staff at a separate location. The workforce includes both monthly and weekly paid staff, and you will ensure that all payroll operations are executed accurately and efficiently. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage end-to-end payroll processing for both monthly and weekly paid staff.

Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions, including salaries, benefits, taxes, and deductions.

Maintain and update employee payroll records.

Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer payroll-related queries from employees.

Ensure compliance with all relevant payroll laws and regulations.

Liaise with HR and finance departments to ensure seamless payroll operations.

Prepare and submit required payroll reports.

Support year-end payroll activities and audits.

Continuously review and improve payroll processes and systems for efficiency and accuracy.

About you;

Proven experience as a Payroll Manager or similar role.

Strong understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.

Experience managing payroll for a large number of employees (450+).

Proficiency in payroll software and systems.

Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Relevant qualifications in payroll administration or finance are desirable.
