RECfinancial are currently shortlisting for one of our longstanding clients on a retained basis as they look to recruit an experienced Hybrid Payroll Manager into their organisation. SO WHO ARE THE SMB GROUP?
Established in 2020, SMB Group is formed of two merged Colleges - Stephenson College and Brooksby Melton College - and their commercial entities.
SO WHAT'S THE ROLE OF PAYROLL MANAGER?
Reporting into the Director of Finance, you'll supervise a part time Payroll administrator and be involved in working alongside HR across, managing the process for circa 430 staff.
You'll manage all aspects of the Payroll and Pension function. This will involve;
Ensuring all staff across the group are paid on time and accurately
Being responsible for external pension returns for TPA and LGPS
To contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
Follow and update all procedures, working closely with HR
Provide payroll advise to members of staff and ensure all documentation is correct and complies with statutory legislation
Review and ensure inter-college staff recharges are reconciled
Assist with external and internal audit processes
Keep up to date with current payroll legislation
SO WHO DO WE WANT FOR THE PAYROLL MANAGER
Demonstrable experience as a Senior Payroll
Full knowledge of all areas of Payroll
Knowledge of Pensions and HMRC
Strong system skills including Excel, VLOOKUP and Pivot tables
The ability to work to guidelines and deadlines
Team management and excellent communication skills
