We are delighted to be recruiting for a Finance & Payroll Assistant to join a well-established and growing business based in Grantham.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys combining payroll with day-to-day finance responsibilities and wants to become a valued member of the team. You’ll initially provide support across the Finance & Payroll function, with plenty of opportunity to develop your skills, take on additional responsibility and progress within the business.

And with flexible working and part-time hours available, the role can be tailored to suit the right candidate.

The role.

- Check, validate and consolidate weekly timesheets.

- Calculate statutory payments including SSP, SMP and SPP.

- Produce payslips and payroll reports.

- Deal confidently and professionally with employee payroll queries.

Purchase Ledger:

- Process, code and post supplier invoices.

- Reconcile supplier statements.

- Process company credit card transactions.

- Prepare BACS payment runs.

- Maintain and reconcile petty cash.

Sales Ledger & Finance:

- Process customer invoices, credit notes and statements.

- Post customer receipts and allocate payments.

- Assist with credit control activities when required.

- Maintain accurate customer records.

- Support month-end activities, including reconciliations and ledger reporting.

The ideal candidate:

Will have previous experience across payroll, purchase ledger and sales ledger, along with a good understanding of HMRC legislation, pensions and statutory payments.

Experience with Sage Payroll, Sage 50 or similar accounting software would be advantageous.

Most importantly, someone who is:

- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.

- Comfortable working with figures and confidential information.

- A strong communicator who enjoys working as part of a team.

- Proactive, reliable and willing to get involved.

- Keen to learn, develop and take on additional responsibility.

Don't have every skill listed above? Don't let that put you off!

We would also love to hear from candidates with a Finance or Payroll background and/or relevant qualifications who are keen to develop their experience. Full support and on-the-job learning will be available, working closely with the existing Finance & Payroll team.

Benefits:

- £26,500 – £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.

- Full-time: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

- Part-time options available – hours and working days can be discussed at interview.

- Flexible working available.

- 20 days' holiday plus 8 bank holidays, rising to 25 days after 5 years' service (pro-rata for part-time employees).

- Workplace pension scheme.

- Benefits Cash Plan covering medical, health and leisure-related requirements.

- On-site parking.

- A friendly, supportive family-run working environment.

- Excellent opportunity to learn, develop and grow with an expanding business.
