About the Role

We’re representing a leading Top 10 accountancy and business advisory firm with a strong national presence and an award-winning payroll division. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Payroll Administrator to join their Payroll Services team in Cardiff.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional looking to further their career within a busy bureau environment. You'll manage a portfolio of client payrolls, provide exceptional client service, and work alongside a knowledgeable and supportive team while benefiting from ongoing professional development and flexible working.

Key Responsibilities

* Process end-to-end payrolls for a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with agreed deadlines.

* Administer auto-enrolment pension schemes and ensure compliance with current legislation.

* Process statutory payments including SSP, SMP, SPP and other statutory entitlements.

* Input, validate and reconcile payroll data, carrying out audit checks before processing.

* Prepare year-end payroll reports and support all HMRC reporting requirements.

* Update payroll and time and attendance systems with employee changes and payroll adjustments.

* Respond promptly to payroll queries from clients, HMRC and third-party providers.

* Perform peer reviews of payrolls to maintain high levels of accuracy and quality.

* Maintain accurate payroll records and complete general payroll administration duties.

* Keep up to date with UK payroll legislation and implement legislative changes where required.

* Build strong working relationships with clients, acting as a trusted payroll contact.

Ideal Candidate Profile

* Minimum of 1 year's payroll administration experience, ideally within a payroll bureau or accountancy practice.

* Experience processing end-to-end payrolls for multiple clients.

* Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, PAYE, National Insurance and Auto Enrolment.

* Experience processing statutory payments, pensions and employee benefits.

* Ability to manually calculate payroll where required.

* Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.

* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

* Excellent communication and customer service skills.

* Confident using payroll software and Microsoft Excel.

* Proactive, adaptable and able to work effectively within a fast-paced environment.
