Company Details and Job Overview:

A new part-time role has become available within a Blackpool based business who require payroll support within their team on a permanent basis. Alongside providing a full payroll service for approximately 90 employees, this role will also support with other finance tasks including purchase ledger and day to day financial administration.

This is a part-time role (25 hours), ideally to be worked across 5 days Monday to Friday.

Your New Role as Payroll Assistant:

Reporting to the Finance Manager, as Payroll Assistant you will work in a friendly team of 4 accounts staff. Duties will include:

• Manage the end-to-end weekly/monthly payroll process using Sage Payroll, ensuring all payroll deadlines are met
• Maintaining accurate employee payroll records including starters, leavers and any changes to employee details
• Processing PAYE, NI, pensions and other statutory deductions
• Managing holiday pay, sick pay, maternity/paternity leave and other payroll adjustments
• Liaise with subcontractors and managers to obtain and verify timesheets, hours worked and other relevant payroll information
• Dealing with CIS requirements including verifying subcontractors and submitting CIS returns as required
• Handling and resolving any payroll queries
• Keeping up to date with changes to relevant legislation
• Contributing to the development of system developments within the department
• Supporting with wider finance administration as required

Experience & Qualifications Required to Apply:

The successful candidate will have a background in payroll with in-depth understanding of payroll processes and essential requirements. Working knowledge of Sage Payroll is desirable and knowledge of CIS is also advantageous. Strong attention to detail with accuracy is essential with the ability to quickly adapt to new processes and systems. Additionally, strong communication skills with the confidence to deal with employee queries is required.
