Job Title: Payroll Assistant

Location: Redditch

Salary: £25,000 – £29,000 depending on experience

Hours: Full Time Monday – Friday

8.30am – 4.30pm or 9am – 5pm

Job Type: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Accountable for delivering precise and timely HR & Payroll Administration services. Be the first point of contact for all HR transactional related queries, maintaining a consistently high standard of customer service for both employees and managers. Providing an effective and efficient output of work to meet the demands of the role and to assist in all aspects of work undertaken by the HR Department.

The Role

* Ensuring core HR processes are carried out in line with agreed timelines:

* Absence –ensure fit notes received, monitoring of company sick pay entitlements, informing employees/managers on sick pay entitlements.

* Maternity, paternity leave etc.

* Ensuring the HR and payroll database is updated and regularly maintained, inputting new starters, Leavers, Employee changes, holiday and sickness allowances monitored.

* Processing monthly payroll, collation, and input of all relevant information for the monthly payroll

* To administer the Statutory Sick Pay (SSP), Statutory Maternity Pay and Statutory Paternity Pay schemes, collation, inputting and processing of P11D’s and administration of Auto Enrolment and Stakeholder pension schemes.

* Reconciliation of monthly pay runs

* Preparation of journal for posting of ledger each month

* Producing data for accounts and managers as required

* Calculate monthly Inland Revenue payments and ensure amounts are paid on time, along with any other payments e.g. BHSF.

* Resolving payroll discrepancies and identification of issues to improve processes and reduce further discrepancies or errors

Experience Required

* Experience of working in similar Payroll Assistant role

* Able to manage the end-to-end payroll process independently

* Strong experience with Excel - Knowledge of UK employment law with regards to payroll

* Knowledge of employment law with regards to payroll

* Strong administration duties

* Microsoft Office experience (Outlook, Excel)
