Patterns Coordinator - 12 months Contract

Job Purpose:

To exclusively review the existing pattern records of the bsuiness and work with internal and external stakeholders to bring the records up to date and convert into a single master pattern register, with improved data content added.  

Key Accountabilities:

Manage the project end to end so that an up-to-date accurate master register is secured and available
Work with foundries (predominantly UK based foundries) to re-confirm identity of patterns held at their respective premises (incl part number identity, condition, no. of pieces, type of pattern etc) on a rolling program
Arrange the disposal of identified obsolete patterns with foundries (or via a 3rd party) in line with company policy
Coordinate with the Finance Dept to align the Purchasing Pattern Registers to that of the Finance Asset Register, on a continual basis
Minimize any & all costs associated with the disposal / transfer / storage costs of patterns
Obtain sq/ft occupation footprint estimate of patterns remaining at each foundry – pre & post scrappage activity - in order to collate and assess overall storage requirements of SGV UK Assessment to be maintained after each foundry activity is completed (estimate 15 foundries involved)
Develop, where absent, useful process & procedure guides  
Functionally ensuring departmental metrics (weekly and monthly progress reporting) are met and that the programme to complete the exercise remains on time and to schedule 
To support the Senior Buyer / Buyer on site responsible for the Castings category, especially pattern location queries
Responsible for the timely negotiation and placement of purchase orders with the vendor base under correct internal procedures & guidelines
Meeting and/or exceeding Departmental targets such as Annual Savings, OTIF vendor performance and any other tracked and measured criteria connected to vendor management / supply chain activity
EFACS records (all relevant functional data) accurate and maintained
Input of required data into the centralized departmental work TEAMS / SharePoint site including monthly report pack
Expertise:

Engineering qualification preferably HNC or higher, with strong Engineering background (preferably in the valve or pump industry) is desirable. An understanding of patterns and castings industry is desirable
Ability to read, analyse, and interpret drawings. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure guides and to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, other internal departments, suppliers
Reasonable level of IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite – intermediate / advance excel skill levels essential. PowerBi knowledge also desirable. 
Ability to communicate effectively and in a professional manner with internal Departments and suppliers, able to handle enquiries / problem solve in a confident, professional, and competent manner
Ability to follow instructions, organise and plan daily workload to known deadlines and project requirements
