The school serves a diverse student population, including many students from disadvantaged backgrounds, and is committed to ensuring every student receives the support they need to achieve their potential.

The Role

As Pastoral Manager, you will take responsibility for the pastoral leadership of a designated year group, supporting students, tutors and teachers to promote positive behaviour, wellbeing, attendance and attainment.

You will play a key role in maintaining high standards, managing interventions and ensuring students receive effective pastoral support throughout their school journey.

Key Responsibilities

*

Lead the pastoral provision for a designated year group and support tutors and teachers with student wellbeing, behaviour and attainment.

*

Monitor attendance and punctuality, manage behaviour interventions and work closely with senior leaders and pastoral teams to address student concerns.

*

Build positive relationships with students while maintaining clear boundaries and high expectations.

*

Communicate with parents and carers regarding behaviour, attendance, wellbeing and progress.

*

Work closely with safeguarding, inclusion and wider pastoral teams and contribute to whole-school pastoral initiatives.

*

Maintain accurate records and ensure appropriate follow-up on student concerns.

About You

The successful candidate will have recent UK secondary school pastoral experience and be confident supporting students across KS3 and KS4.

Suitable backgrounds could include Pastoral Manager, Pastoral Support Manager, non-teaching Head of Year, Behaviour Manager, Student Support Manager, Pastoral Lead, Student Welfare Manager or Inclusion/Pastoral Officer.

You should have strong knowledge of secondary behaviour and pastoral systems, experience managing behaviour and interventions, and the confidence to work within a structured, high-expectations school environment. Excellent communication skills and experience working with parents/carers and multi-disciplinary teams are essential. Inner-London experience would be advantageous.

Requirements

*

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service preferred, or willingness to obtain one.

*

Right to work in the UK.

*

Recent UK secondary pastoral experience is essential.

*

Willingness to commit to a temp-to-permanent opportunity.

*

Please note that the trust cannot provide visa sponsorship.

What We Offer

*

Temp-to-perm opportunity with the potential to secure a permanent position.

*

Full-time hours of approximately 35 hours per week.

*

Opportunity to join an established secondary school and academy trust.

*

The chance to make a meaningful impact on student behaviour, wellbeing, attendance and attainment.

*

A supportive but high-expectation working environment with opportunities for professional development.

If you have recent secondary pastoral experience and are looking for a new opportunity in London, we would be keen to hear from you
