Are you an experienced Pastoral Leader, Pastoral Manager, Behaviour Lead, Attendance Lead or Student Support professional looking for an exciting long-term opportunity within a supportive and welcoming secondary school?

Supply Heroes are recruiting on behalf of a Good-rated Secondary School and Sixth Form in Perry Barr, Birmingham, seeking a committed and compassionate Pastoral Leader to join their established pastoral team on a full-time, long-term basis.

The Role

As Pastoral Leader, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students, families and staff to ensure pupils are able to achieve their full academic and personal potential.

You will work closely with senior leaders, safeguarding teams, teaching staff, external agencies and families to provide high-quality pastoral support across the school.

Key Responsibilities

* Leading and overseeing pastoral provision for students.

* Supporting pupils and families through early intervention and targeted support strategies.

* Taking a lead role in promoting positive behaviour and high standards across the school.

* Monitoring and improving student attendance.

* Supporting safeguarding processes and working closely with safeguarding leads.

* Building strong relationships with students, parents and carers.

* Working collaboratively with staff and external professionals to support student wellbeing.

* Contributing to a positive, inclusive and supportive school culture.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

* Have previous experience working in a Pastoral Leader, Pastoral Manager, Behaviour Manager, Attendance Officer, Family Support Worker or similar role within a UK secondary school.

* Be self-motivated, organised and highly professional.

* Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* Have a strong understanding of safeguarding, behaviour management and attendance procedures.

* Be compassionate and committed to supporting young people from a range of backgrounds.

* Have experience working directly with pupils, families and external agencies.

* Be able to remain calm and effective when managing challenging situations.

* Be passionate about improving outcomes for young people.
